DESDOBRAMENTOS: sinédoques e espelhamentos

Para Desdobramentos – Sinédoques e espelhamentos ; na Galeria Legado, selecionamos um conjunto de trabalhos como desdobramentos dos últimos anos de Fabiana Queiroga. Contemplando trabalhos de desenho, pintura, objetos e desing art, o que era para ser uma pequena mostra acabou por estender pelo espaço da galeria ao incluirmos peças produzidas recentemente, acervos da artista e da própria galeria. Para tanto, esta curadoria pautou por selecionar obras pertinentes ao título que amostra expõe.
Assim, consideramos duas figuras de linguagem que entendemos englobar tal produção com a liberdade que Fabiana tem trabalhado: sinédoques e espelhamentos. Em Sinédoques o trabalho da artista alcança casos específicos da representação de partes pelo todo. E por isso, consideramos realizar uma retrospectiva do acervo de botânica até a redução da representação, os rizomas. Partes de mãos, representadas por dedos que saem de paredes também pertencem a essa mesma categoria.
Como espelhamentos consideramos os ecos, os diálogos, a luz e a sombra, de alguns trabalhos como aquisição de linguagem. Assim, os desdobramentos duais, ou de espelhos de determinados objetos, com referência na natureza ou na linguagem arquitetônica, são alguns exemplos.
Dessa forma, para quem não conhece a produção de Fabiana Queiroga poderá pensar que a pluralidade dos trabalhos apresentados não apresenta coerência. Porém, foi exatamente, enquanto retrospectiva de sua caminhada, que optamos por mostrar a multiplicidade desse trabalho; O qual entendemos caber tão bem, conceitualmente, dentro do espaço da Galeria Legado.
Quanto à “expografia”, a exposição enquanto percurso no espaço, obedeceu a alguns critérios: No hall de entrada da galeria, no volume cilíndrico, temos peças e desenhos mais recentes. No espaço à esquerda, objetos sobre a mesa foram produzidos especialmente para essa mostra; assim como, no segundo átrio, atrás do volume cilíndrico, Fabiana trouxe um inusitado e novo
trabalho em que desenhos e objetos demonstram um modus operandi do processo de trabalho, uma verdadeira joia para quem tem interesse em compreender a produção artística e estética contemporâneas.
Nos demais espaços da galeria optamos por ocupá-la com trabalhos de acervos, os quais também achamos necessário mostrar para que o público perceba o requinte e a coesão dos deslocamentos da artista. Dessarte, é com enorme prazer que os recebemos.
UNFOLDINGS: Synecdoches and Mirrorings

For Unfoldings – Synecdoches and Mirrorings at Galeria Legado, we selected a group of works as unfoldings of Fabiana Queiroga’s production from recent years. Bringing together drawings, paintings, objects, and design art, what was initially conceived as a small exhibition eventually expanded throughout the gallery space as we incorporated recently produced works, pieces from the artist’s collection, and works from the gallery’s own holdings. To this end, the curatorial approach was guided by the selection of works that resonated with the title proposed by the exhibition.
Therefore, we considered two figures of speech that, in our view, encompass this body of work and the freedom with which Fabiana has been working: synecdoches and mirrorings. In the case of synecdoche, the artist’s work reaches specific instances in which a part represents the whole. For this reason, we chose to present a retrospective ranging from her botanical works to reduced forms of representation, such as rhizomes. Fragments of hands, represented by fingers emerging from walls, also belong to this same category.
As mirrorings, we consider the echoes, dialogues, light, and shadow found in certain works as acquisitions of language. In this sense, dual unfoldings—or mirrored versions of particular objects—referencing either nature or architectural language, constitute some of the examples presented.
For those unfamiliar with Fabiana Queiroga’s production, the plurality of works exhibited here may initially appear incoherent. However, it was precisely as a retrospective of her trajectory that we chose to reveal the multiplicity of this body of work, which we believe fits conceptually within the space of Galeria Legado.
As for the exhibition design, the exhibition as a spatial journey followed certain criteria. In the gallery entrance hall, within the cylindrical volume, visitors encounter the most recent drawings and objects. In the space to the left, the objects displayed on the table were produced especially for this exhibition. Likewise, in the second atrium, behind the cylindrical structure, Fabiana presents an unusual and new work in which drawings and objects reveal a modus operandi of her working process—a true gem for those interested in understanding contemporary artistic and aesthetic production.
In the remaining gallery spaces, we chose to occupy them with works from various collections, which we also considered essential to display so that the public might perceive the refinement and coherence of the artist’s shifts and developments. Thus, it is with great pleasure that we welcome you.
